Trucks are versatile vehicles, and one of the reasons for this comes from their truck beds. However, to keep them from accumulating rust and damage, you need to keep them clean, Whether you transport some furniture or are involved in off-road activities, truck beds are exposed to the elements, constantly trapping unwanted debris.

Making sure to maintain a clean truck bed is part of every truck owner’s responsibilities. Chattanooga Trailer & Rental has provided some helpful tips on how to get your pick-up truck’s bed free from dirt, marks, or stains. We have a selection of truck beds for sale to facilitate your hauling needs, so come check them out. We extend a warm welcome to all those from Williamsburg and London, KY.

Clear Out The Dirt

You can start with the simple act of sweeping out dirt, leaves, stones, and any other material accumulated in the truck’s bed. Sometimes, heavier and tougher jobs leave an immense amount of these said materials, so in that case, a shovel can be helpful. If any toolbox is installed, removing it, for the time being, will facilitate the cleaning process.

Spray Out The Trapped Dirt

For the following step, a high-pressure washer would serve better, but also a regular garden hose works too. This will help get out any remaining dirt and debris trapped deep in the corners. Depending on what type of bed your truck has, you’ll want to apply different spraying angle techniques. For open truck beds, meaning it does not have any side guards nor a tailgate, you can point the water hose in any direction, making sure all the remaining dirt falls out of the bed. For truck beds with tailgates, be sure to have the tailgate opened, working your way from the rear window area leading to the back.

Give It A Wash

Now that your truck bed is wet and almost dirt-free, it’s time to start scrubbing off any stains and hard mud. Use a mop to do so, and if necessary, use a stiff bristle scrubbing brush to remove the stubborn spatters. You can use regular car washing shampoo, or if preferred, shop for special washing products.

Rinse and Dry

To finalize the truck-bed cleaning process, give it a deep rinse. As mentioned earlier, a high-pressure washer is ideal for the best results, but a garden hose will do the trick as well.

Rinse thoroughly, making sure to spray all the corners. After inspecting that the entire bed got properly rinsed, leave your pickup truck to dry out in the sun. You can use a drying cloth to speed up the drying process, but making sure the truck bed is completely dried will avoid the growth of mildew.
