Bob has been in the truck and trailer sales business for more than 50 years. He started CTR in 1974. Bob enjoys farming and taking care of his wife, Helen. They have been married for 61 years. He has 4 sons, 10 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Kevin has been around CTR since he was 3 years old. He started coming after school in the 1st grade. He has worked full time at CTR since 1993. He is married to Regina and has three children, Eric, Evan, and Ember. He enjoys watching his kids participate in athletics and Tennessee football.

Mike has worked at CTR for 42 years. He started here while he was in college at the University of Tennessee. Mike manages the service and rental departments. He is married to Amanda and has two children, Beth and Chris. He also has three grandchildren, Bryce, Mikayla, and JC. Mike enjoys biking and spending time with his grandkids.

Company History
Chattanooga Trailer & Rental, Inc. was opened in 1974 by Robert C. Mowery and Michael T. Karam. Since the beginning, CTR has provided sales & service of trucks & trailers in Tennessee. Mr. Karam left in 1976 to start his own company & Mr. Mowery obtained his share.
In the fall of 1977, CTR started leasing trailers to customers in Chattanooga, TN. Since then, we've grown to leasing over 300 trailers. Mike Mowery was hired in 1979 as the office & leasing manager. Mike still handles all leasing services, as well as manages the service department. Our facilities have grown to include 3 full-size service bays equipped to handle 53 ft trailers & 4 exterior doors set up to perform interior service on van & reefer trailers.
In the early 1980's, Bob Mowery felt the need to diversify the company to include long haul trucking due to the economy. Steve Mowery was hired in 1985 to manage the trucking division because of his experience at Southwest Motor Freight. The trucking fleet grew to include 10 trucks & drivers by the end of the decade. In 1991, Bob Mowery decided to separate the trucking & sales unit. These units operated independently until 2003 when the trucking corporation ceased operations.
Kevin Mowery was hired in 1993 to manage the safety & maintenance of our trucking operation. In 2000, Kevin transitioned over to the sales corporation to become sales manager. In 2005, Steve Mowery transitioned to the sales corporation, as well. Steve now covers East Tennessee for the company, while Kevin covers areas in Middle Tennessee & North Georgia.
